Graphing Interactions

This applet will allow you to vary the differences between means of the row variable, the means of the column variable, and the interaction. You simply slide the appropriate slider. The interaction slider causes the effects to be nonparallel.

The applet is shown below

• If you build in a row effect, does it change when you then add a column effect? (If not, then the effects are said to be independent.)
• Is the row effect altered by the addition of an interaction effect?
• Are all three effects independent from each other?
