There are several things that you can do to expand on the ideas in this chapter. You can:

• Demonstrate the sampling distribution of F when the null hypothesis is true or false. This brings in a discussion of power.
• Discuss the treatment of missing data.
• The Sethi & Seligman (1993) paper on optimism and religious fundamentalism involves both a one-way analysis of variance and multiple regression.
• Foa, Rothbaum, Riggs, & Murdock (1991) have investigated treatment of post traumatic stress disorder in rape cases and their data illustrate several things about one-way analysis of variance.
