HOW DO I GET TO SHRC?

SHRC is located on the UVM campus in John Dewey Hall, the building currently holding the psychology department. Our street address is 2 Colchester Ave and we are at the crossing where Colchester turns into Pine and crosses North Prospect. The Red Cross is located right behind our parking lot.

We are on the second floor in suite 241. As you enter the building from the main entrance on Colchester Ave, the main entrance (on Colchester), make a left. You will see the Main Office in front of you. Around the corner from the Main Office there is the door to our waiting room (on your right). On the door you will see the sign:

At SHRC:  Mood and Sexual Arousal

Background: Some survivors of childhood sexual abuse have severe problems developing close intimate relationships while other women with similar histories are able to have satisfying relationships. The focus of this study is to better understand the aspect of intimate relationships and aspects of sexual function that affect sexual abuse survivors with and without sexual and relational problems. The information coming from this study will help us develop interventions to help those women who experience problems in their sexual or romantic relationships.

Objectives: We are conducting this research 1)  to understand the way in which mood affects sexuality in women with a history of sexual abuse, and 2) to understand the mechanisms involved in the relational problems of women with a history of sexual abuse.

Method: Working with women between the ages of 18 and 25 with and without a history of unwanted sexual experiences. If you qualify you will be asked to come to the Sexual Health Research Clinic for two consecutive days for 2 hrs each day. You will receive $80 for participating.

CALL US AT (802) 419-0820 to see if you qualify.
