Papillary Thyroid Cancer

• Develops in cells that produce iodine containing thyroid hormones3

• Grows very slowly4

• Only 5% of all thyroid nodules are malignant

• Most common of all thyroid cancer (around 80%)

• Thyroid cancer more common in women (contraceptives, menarche) 3:1 ratio5

• Good prognosis

• High cure rate (around 100% for young patients)

• Spreads to lymphnodes of neck in around 50% of cases6
