Variety sites: H=Hort. Research Center, So. Burlington, VT; M=Milton, VT. Hill=commercial site, Newfane, VT; Hargy=private site, Milton, VT. Appreciation is expressed to Dr. Stephen Kenny, WSU, Prosser, Wash. for analyses. Aquila ('95) and Willamette ('95) stored in freezer in zip-loc bag for one year prior to analysis. Yields in fresh weight (oz) of cones per hill; '96 data not given since much loss from downy mildew. Data are means of replicate hills, 1-4 bines per hill. Appreciation is expressed to Matt and Michael for assistance with harvests (9/9-9/12/96).

1996 Culture and Growing Conditions: cool, wet (avg 50% above normal); Roundup and hand weed as needed. Maximum downy mildew at M.
1 May-- train, 5-3-4 organic ProGro fertilizer
21 May-- 20-10-20 fertilizer, 2#N/1000sqft at M
15 June--20-10-10 fertilizer as above at M, copper sulfate spray for downey mildew (M)
30 June--mildew spray and after as needed
30 July--predator mite mix release for spider mites (few to no mites seen)
