Courses

The Materials Science Program offers no courses of its own. All courses in a student's program are offered by the individual departments — primarily Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Mathematics & Statistics, Physics, and Chemistry.

The courses are divided into the following subject categories:

A. Solid State Theory
B. Quantum Mechanics
C. Electronic Materials and Devices
D. Electromagnetic Waves
E. Instrumentation and Technology
F. Optical Properties of Materials
G. Thermodynamics, Kinetics and
Statistical Mechanics
H. Structural (and Microstructural)
Characteristics of Materials
