Most of us, as children growing up, spend much of our time and effort learning to communicate, initially through speech, then through written language, and eventually through symbolic means, whether artistic, mathematical or scientific.
But are we constantly improving our ability to communicate?
Is using the greater variety of communication means (email, texting, FaceBook, etc.) improving our communication, or are they causing us to bypass learning how to communicate intimately, person-to-person?
Does this have negative implications in our social lives, as members of a larger society?
Will this affect our collective global learning?
These are all questions worth asking!
