Jesse Suter earned his Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology in 2006 from the University of Vermont. In graduate school he started his line of research in wraparound, a team-based planning process for meeting the needs of students with serious emotional and behavioral challenges and maintaining them in their homes, schools, and communities. In this area, he has worked closely with John Burchard and Eric Bruns co-authoring several journal articles and book chapters, including the first meta-analysis of wraparound outcome studies. In 2005 he joined the faculty at CDCI to continue his research in wraparound and related interdisciplinary school and community-based interventions for youth with emotional and behavioral challenges. From 2006 to 2009 he was the director of UVM's BEST Graduate Concentration to provide advanced training for educators to support students with emotional and behavioral challenges. Since 2006 he has worked with Michael Giangreco examining ways to improve special education service delivery for students with disabilities. Most recently, he is Principal Investigator on an Institute of Education Sciences grant and lead evaluator on a Children's Bureau grant increasing access for evidence-based trauma-informed services for children in foster care.
