Secondary Heliostat Mirror
The mirror can rotate about two mutually perpendicular axes, and those axes can rotate about the verticle.
The mirror can be adjusted vertically through 4.5", as shown in the picture.
The locking mechanism for the height adjustment shows a bit of craftsmanship. The collar is made from a separate piece of brass fitted into the base post. The thumb screw pushes an arc of  brass against the extension tube, locking it in place without 
marring the surface.
