This shunt was used in conjunction with an ammeter to measure large currents. The fractions 1/9, 1/99, and 1/999 on the top of the shunt indicate the fraction of current flowing through the meter, the other 9/9, 99/99, or 999/999 of the current would pass through the shunt. Inside are wire wound coils that can be selected by the plug on the top. There also appears to be a plug position for shorting the shunt. | |
