Power Hungry

(A Poetic Reflection On Coping)

There is a difference between what I say and what I do

but you should try to put on my other shoe

I tap my pencil and drive everyone mad

because it's the only control I've ever had

people boss me around at home and at school

all I have to follow are stupid rules

I'm bright but bored

perhaps a little ignored

Please remember I don't lose my temper

I just know how to use my temper

you think I'd want to do what's right

but I really just want a fight

people label me lazy, forgetful, and underachieving

but they just need to start believing

I really need to have control

and controlling you is my new goal

I want to be the boss and do everything my own way

because no one wants to listen to what I have to say.
