Lane Series: Soovin Kim
We repeat last year¿s wonderful collaboration with the LCCMF. This year¿s classical music weekend will feature two blockbuster performances. Friday night, powerhouse pianist Zitong Wang, from Inner Mongolia, will perform a Rachmaninoff/ Chopin/Liszt program. Sunday afternoon, LCCMF Artistic Director Soovin Kim will perform the Paganini 24 Caprices for Solo Violin, one of the most difficult pieces any violinist can take on, and a rare opportunity for our audience to experience them in our bell-like acoustics. Like last year, the UVM Music Building will be filled with students and observers on the Saturday between the concerts, as Zitong and Soovin host masterclasses with young musicians. This promises to be another incredible chance to really immerse ourselves in such virtuosic music.
