Title: The Economics of Obesity

In recent decades, the global obesity crisis has escalated, with the USA experiencing a concerning 73% of the population classified as either overweight or obese. This lecture, following an exploration of obesity facts, trends, and costs, delves into the economic literature on this issue. It specifically addresses two key aspects: first, an examination of the current understanding of economic, psychological, social, and biological causes integrated into economic models, and second, a presentation of research findings pertaining to obesity prevention policies.
