Lane Series: Kaki King & Treya Lam
Kaki King is widely respected as one of the world¿s great contemporary guitarists. The instrument truly shines in her hands, and there isn¿t a style she hasn¿t mastered. She has also served as a mentor to many young artists, including treya lam, releasing treya¿s debut album on her label and hiring them to open for her on tour. treya lam is a multi-instrumentalist and composer whose joyously complex identity informs but does not define their work, whether solo or when collaborating with a variety of multidisciplinary ensembles. Their evocative voice, politically charged songwriting and fluency on guitar, piano and looped viola recalls Nina Simone and Andrew Bird.
