UVM Theatre and Dance program presents "Walking: performance ruminations in ambulatory process"
"Walking: performance ruminations in ambulatory process" is an original UVM Theatre & Dance performance event created and directed by Theatre & Dance faculty Julian Barnett and Paul Besaw. The event explores ideas and experiences of "walking" - physically, intellectually, relationally, and more - and consists of three parts:
- outdoor movement performance: an original site performance for the Royall Tyler Theatre patio, directed by Barnett and features original/live music.
- installation performance: two installations for the Royall Tyler Theatre lobbies, directed by Barnett and Besaw.
- theatre performance: a poetic adaptation of Thomas Bernhard¿s "Walking". Directed by Besaw, this new theatre work features an adaption of Bernhard¿s novella by Kathleen Gough and Paul Besaw, original/live music by Tom Cleary, and original film/projection design by Myles Jewell.
- This part of the presentation requires that a ticket be purchased for admittance to the Royall Tyler Theatre.
PLEASE NOTE: The themes of this portion of the presentation include a discussion of mental illness. Also, a strobe light effect will be used during the presentation of the theatre performance.
