Jazz Ensemble
Bobby Watson is in residence with the UVM Jazz Ensemble this week, culminating in a master class and concert. His unique composition style and saxophone prowess have led Watson to be dubbed a living legend of jazz.
A multi-Grammy-nominated musician, Watson has played alongside some of the greatest jazz musicians, like Art Blakely and Wynton Marsalis. In 2014, he was inducted into the American Jazz Walk of Fame.
MASTER CLASS: Wednesday, April 3rd, 3pm, free and open to the public.
CONCERT: Thursday, April 4th, 7:30 pm, free and open to the public. Watson will guest-direct his famous ¿Gates BBQ Suite,¿ an homage to the barbecue of his hometown, Kansas City. Alex Stewart, director.
