- B.S. Biological sciences at Rio de Janeiro State University (UERJ)Brazil, 2017
BIO
I joined the CMB program in 2022 as a graduate student and I'm conducting research in the Janssen-Heininger lab under Dr. Yvonne Janssen-Heininger mentoring. My research utilizes mouse models with fluorescent reporters to trace Alveolar Type II cells. The approach also enables me to conditionally knock-out genes of interest. I'm working with organoid cultures to study the differentiation ability and defects on epithelial cells of the lung and the related pathways. I'm interested in better understanding the process that drives dysfunction in epithelial plasticity during pulmonary fibrosis in settings of chronic injury and oxidative stress.
I obtained a bachelor's degree in Biological Sciences from Rio de Janeiro State University in Brazil. After graduation, I did an internship at the Cell Bank of Rio de Janeiro (BCRJ) located at the National Institute of Metrology (Inmetro). From 2018 to 2022 worked as a technician in a lab focused on Regenerative Medicine in Brazil (UNIFASE/FMP).
