BIO

I am a student in Vikas Anathy's lab with interests in virology, lung pathology, and chronic airway disease. My research investigates influenza receptor profiling in the context of asthma. The aims of my research are to determine the signaling pathways and transcriptional mechanisms that control the expression of sialic acids in the asthmatic lung, and to find potential targets to mitigate subsequent viral burden.   I graduated from UVM in 2019 with a B.S. in Molecular Genetics and during this time I completed a research capstone regarding the influence of GRP78 oxidative modification on endoplasmic reticulum stress signaling. I then completed UVM's MPH program in 2022 while working as a research technician in Dr. Anathy's lab.

Area(s) of expertise

The Role of Sialyltransferases at the Intersection of Influenza and Asthma
