Professor Kozen’s research program lives at the nexus of thin film deposition, solid state ionics, and surface science. His group’s research is focused on development and fundamental characterization of complex thin-film materials grown using atomic layer deposition (ALD) for use in next-generation computing, sensors, and electrochemical systems. His work focuses on understanding the processing-structure-properties relationship of thin-film ion-conductive materials using advanced surface science and optical techniques. He develops test platforms designed to elucidate fundamental properties of materials & interfaces for advanced solid state electrochemical systems and next-generation computing architectures. Professor Kozen has co-authored over 50 peer-reviewed publications and holds 1 U.S. Patent.
