H2A Program Use

The H-2A visa program for temporary or seasonal agricultural work continued to grow in fiscal year 2025 with over 400,000 agricultural workers requested, according to a January 2026 article summarizing American Farm Bureau Federation (AFBF) analysis of US Department of Agriculture Labor data. 

According to the AFBF

  • The H-2A program has grown 185% in the last 10 years;
  • 398,258 positions were certified nationally, an increase of 13,300;
  • 38 states increased their demand for H-2A workers
