Join WOW-VT for a full-day, hands-on Chainsaw Safety 101 course in Mendon, VT taught by two experienced female instructors from the Women's Tree Climbing Workshop.®  This workshop is designed for anyone who uses—or plans to use a chainsaw around their property.

We will cover the basics of chainsaw safety, use and maintenance. Participants will have an opportunity to try-on all sorts of personal protective gear from helmets to chaps to chainsaw pants. We will also have an opportunity to use both gas powered chainsaws and battery powered saws.

In addition, we will take apart a chainsaw and discuss some of the most common "my saw won't start issues."  Finally, in the afternoon, participants will get individualized instruction running a saw and making different types of cuts on downed trees, including the opportunity to use gas powered and battery powered chainsaws.

Whether you’re blocking up firewood, clearing brush, or just getting started with chainsaw work, this workshop is for you! We’ll provide valuable tools and knowledge to help you feel confident and safe while using a chainsaw. Plus, you’ll leave knowing what type of gear works best for you!

Pre-registration is required.  The registration fee is $200 (Need help covering the cost? Registration assistance is available—just ask!)
