Working around tractors is an essential part of farm life, but without proper knowledge it can also be dangerous. This class is designed for anyone who will be working on or around tractors in a vegetable farm setting. They’ll cover the most common risks, from rollovers to PTO entanglements, and teach you how to prevent accidents before they happen. Whether you’re new to tractors or need a refresher, this hands-on discussion will give you the skills and confidence to work safely.
This is a one-time basics class running 1-2 hours for new farmers and farm interns to help you understand why tractors can be dangerous, and how to work around tractors safely.
A women, BIPOC, and LGTBQIA specific class will also be offered on 4/19.
