Tractors are one of the most important tools on a farm, but learning how to use them can feel overwhelming -- especially if you’ve never had the opportunity to get hands-on experience. This beginner-friendly class is designed specifically for women, LGBTQIA+, and BIPOC farmers who want to build confidence and practical skills with tractors.
We’ll cover how to safely operate a tractor, choosing the right tractor for your farm’s needs, basic maintenance and troubleshooting, understanding attachments and their uses, and key safety practices to prevent accidents.
Whether you’re considering your first tractor or want to feel more comfortable using one, this class will give you the knowledge and skills to work with tractors safely and effectively. No prior experience needed, just a willingness to learn!
This class is open to all, with a special focus on supporting socially disadvantaged and underrepresented farmers. We are utilizing a sliding scale system for this class. The base price of this class is $30, please select the pricing that works best for your income level. We'll hold the class on site at Eureka Organic Farm in Springfield, VT.
