| 1. Call the UVM America Reads Associate Program Coordinator
Patrick McCoy, at 656-9684 to let him know that you are interested in becoming
a storybook tutor.
2. Using the table below, link to the school descriptions and select a few sites. 3. Call the schools you are considering. Identify yourself as a UVM student or a community member interested in being a storybook tutor. If the site supervisor is unavailable, leave your name, phone number, and good times to be reached. 4. The America Reads site supervisor will call you back to make an appointment with you for an interview. 5. Print out and complete the Applicant Information Sheet. Make a copy to keep and bring the original with you to the interview. At the interview you will talk about this information and you will give the Applicant Information Sheet to the site supervisor. 6. Print out and complete the Storybook Tutor contract. This needs to be signed by your site supervisor before you start working. 7. Work-Study students should bring their Work-Study authorization forms to be completed with the America Reads Site Supervisor. When you have been hired by a school, call Pat to let him know where and when you will be working. |
