National Impact of VMI

* Other programs modeled upon the VMI and utilizing VMI designed materials have been introduced in Massachusetts, Nebraska, New Mexico, and Newcastle (Australia). 

* In 2006, the Intel Foundation chose VMI as a program to scale-up nationally.  The Intel program is called the Intel Mathematics Initiative (IMI), and Intel commissioned Ken Gross to develop the curriculum.

* In 2007 the Little Rock (Arkansas) School District adopted VMI for its mathematics professional development.

 

* In 2008 the Cincinnati (Ohio) Public Schools adopted VMI for its mathematics professional development.
