Thank You To All The VAS Auction Donors! The following contributors ensured the success of this year's Vermont Archaeological Society, Inc. Spring Meeting & auction, held April 18, 1998 at Middlebury College. Proceeds from our fifth annual Archaeology Awareness Auction will help us cosponsor Vermont Archaeology Week, along with the Vermont Division for Historic Preservation, and offer other educational activities to our members and the public. Vermont Archaeology Week '98, "Journey Into the Past,"is scheduled for September 20-26th. Vermont Archaeology Week features about 60 events across the state. We promote these fun, public events in products such as 7000 calendars and posters designed by famous artists. Over 10,000 folks annually enjoy the opportunity to learn more about Vermont's important, fragile archeological sites. Our rich and ancient heritage provides a direct link to the past, sense of identity, and future economic potential through heritage tourism.
