At a tavern here, Ethan Allen and Seth Warner planned their successful attack on Fort Ticonderoga. The district includes a collection of outstanding examples of Federal and Greek Revival residences, churches, and commercial buildings. it has some of the best examples of high-style Federal architecture in the state, many designed by master builder Thomas Dake.
