Crystal Lake Falls Historic District

This district is centered around a picturesque sequence of waterfalls on the outlet from Crystal Lake in Barton, Vermont. At its heart are numerous ruins of mills and factories that were active from the late 1700s until 1940. These businesses milled lumber and grain, made a wide variety of wood products, cotton undergarments, piano actions, and cider presses. Also in the district are the Pierce House Museum, a church, railroad depot, livery stable, and grist mill.
