The district is dominated by the Equinox House, one of the greatest 19th-century resorts in the state. The district also contains more than 60 other significant buildings that stretch along Route 7A, north and south of the Equinox House and along Taconic Avenue. The streets are lined with marble sidewalks and rows of trees.
