Middlebury Village Historic District

Vermont's largest antebellum town and commercial center was developed around a major wool processing industry and the state's first marble works. The district has nearly 300 buildings constructed during the 18th and early 19th centuries, including the Congregational Church, the Battell and Beckwith commercial blocks, and the Emma Willard House.
