
A 306 dolomite obelisk rises above historic Old Bennington and marks the site of the Continental arsenal. The Monument was dedicated in 1891 to commemorate the Colonial victory over the British at the Revolutionary War Battle of Bennington in 1777. Owned and operated by the Vermont Division for Preservation. Open mid-April-October 31, daily 9-5pm. Admission. (Monument Circle, off Route 9. Tel. 802-447-0550)
