“Burlington Eat-In”
Tuesday April 7th from 11-1pm on the Bailey Howe Beach
Sponsored by Slow Foods at UVM and the Real Food Challenge
An Eat-In is a group of people gathering together in public to share a
meal. It is a protest against food that is fast, artificially cheap,
and industrially produced. The purpose of this Eat-In is for the
generation inheriting the current food system to demonstrate to the
community that we want good, clean, and fair food for the future and
that we can all come to the table to create a just food system. We are
asking all UVM student, faculty, and staff to take some time out of
their day to eat together during this time to demonstrate our desire
and commitment to change in the food system and demand for real food!
Visit the national Eat-In website for more information. (www.eat-in.org)

into action. The day will be divided into three sessions (#1

will provide 5-6 presenters who have an idea or current project that
they want to turn into action. It can be anything from starting a
garden on the University green, to requiring every student to carry
their own utensils into the dining hall. There will be a note taker in
each group that will compile all of the discussions and contact
information into a publication that will be posted on the Vermont Food
Summit website. If you are an idea person (seed), email the vfs@uvm.edu
