In its upcoming season, the UVM Lane Series returns with diverse offerings for all live performance lovers. From solo piano, vocal and chamber music, to jazz, folk, and traditional music, the Lane Series continues its tradition of bringing to Burlington some of the finest performers in the world, who will perform a variety of traditional music and innovative new music across all genres.

This year, the Lane Series is excited to welcome the 14th Van Cliburn International Piano Competition gold medalist Vadym Kholodenko, silver medalist Beatrice Rana, and crystal medalist Sean Chen. This season’s artists also include A Far Cry Chamber Orchestra with clarinetist David Krakauer; Imani Winds; Hugo Wolf Quartett; Lionheart; April Verch; Wendy MacIsaac and Mary Jane Lamond; The Teetotallers; Hot Club of Detroit; The Duhks; Kobo Town; Gabriel Kahane and Rob Moose; and many more. Additionally, the Lane Series is co-presenting three performances with the Flynn Center for the Performing Arts: Fatoumata Diawara in February, a Saint Patrick’s Day celebration with Danú in March, and Nellie McKay in April.

Subscription packages are now available for purchase through the Lane Series office, (802)-656-4455 or over the secure website,  www.uvm.edu/laneseries.  Student ticket prices to all UVM Recital Hall shows are $15. Subscribers to three or more events save considerably over the price of single tickets, and again this year, the Lane Series is offering the “Music Lover’s Deal,” a complete Recital Hall subscription package that offers a savings of 41 percent over single ticket prices. Tickets to individual Lane Series performances go on sale beginning Sept. 21 through the Flynn Box Office.

The Lane Series will also be continuing its partnership with the Fleming Museum and UVM Film and Television Studies for the fourth annual Film Series. This year’s Film Series theme is “Working for a Living: Labor on Film” and will include screenings of Office Space (Mike Judge, 1999), Salt of the Earth (Herbert J. Biberman, 1954), Fast, Cheap & Out of Control (Errol Morris, 1997), and The Front (Martin Ritt, 1976).  Memberships are available through the Lane Series website and include admission to all four films, pre-film lectures, e-previews and more.
