Integrated Humanities Program

About the IHP

What Is the Integrated Humanities Program?

  • The Integrated Humanities Program is a first-year program in the Humanities combining courses in Literature, History, and Religion/Philosophy
  • IHP students live together in the Living and Learning Center, some of the best and most popular housing on campus. The student suites in Living and Learning provide a congenial living situation where students provide academic and personal support for each other.
  • The three coordinated courses offered each semester in IHP provide an excellent structure for first-year students. Our experience has shown that a well-planned program of courses is essential to a strong first year in college.
  • IHP is limited to about thirty students. This size gives you multiple opportunities for active learning.
  • The core faculty, who have taught together for years, give the IHP consistency and continuity.
