Information for Faculty and Advisors

Mentoring Program
The Mentoring Program provides first-year TRiO/SSS students an opportunity to work with project staff in order to help ensure a smooth first year at UVM.

  • As students join the program, the mentor will send a student's faculty advisor an information letter from TRiO that describes the services available tostudents in the program.
  • We hope faculty/advisors will encourage students to use TRiO services as needed and will contact mentors so they can work together to support students academically and personally.
  • First-year students can qualify for priority registration through TRiO. Students need to meet with their faculty/advisor and mentor to complete the process.

College Liaison Program
Each member of the Academic Support Programs/TRiO/SSS professional staff serves as a liaison to one or two of UVM's schools and colleges. If you have any questions about our programs and services, or if you would like to discuss ways we can support students in your college or school, please contact the appropriate liaison listed below.
