Cost: StarTalk Vermont covers the cost of housing, meals and teaching materials. Teachers are responsible for their transportation costs to and from Burlington, VT. Small travel stipends may be available.
Deadline to Apply: June 1, 2014.

This combined program provides opportunities for teachers and students to learn the Chinese language together. Held on the campus of the University of Vermont, the teacher program begins on July 27 and finishes on August 9, 2014. Dr. Wu Weiling, a nationally known expert on teaching methodology for the Chinese language, Dr. He Baozhang of the College of Holly Cross, and Dr. Weijia Huang of Boston University are among the scholars conducting training. The teacher program aims at upgrading teachers' knowledge and expertise for teaching the Chinese language. Participants study in-depth content on Chinese culture and the Chinese language from renowned scholars to expand their knowledge base. They examine the latest methodology for Chinese language instruction and practice them when they teach in the student program.
The teacher program is open to teachers nationally. The teacher program enroll Chinese language instructors only. Applications are available online and at the Principal's Office and the Guidance Department of each school in mid-April.
