UVM STAND (Students Taking Action Now: Darfur) is a student initiated movement active in promoting awareness and advocating for an end to the ongoing genocide in Darfur, Sudan.
UVM STAND seeks to unify, resource and empower Vermonters so that, together we can impact our government's policy towards genocide in Darfur and set a precedent for a permanent change in the world's mentality towards genocide.

APRIL ACTION KEYNOTE SPEAKER:
Senator Romeo Dallaire, former UN Force Commander in Rwanda 1993-1994
Where: Ira Allen Chapel
When: 7pm Lecture with Q & A to follow
Date: April 10th, 2008
What: Senator Dallaire will speak about his experiences as UN Force Commander during the 1994 Rwandan genocide and his current humanitarian work. He is the first recipient of the Aegis Award on Genocide Prevention.

OUR GOAL IS TO RAISE $5,000 for civilian protection during our April Month of Action.
Our fundraising efforts are now focused speficially of civilian protection for the people in Darfur. $3 Dollars can help protect one person for one year via the Genocide Intervention Network's Civilian Protection Program
