January Orientation is for both new first-year students and transfer students. The program provides you with an opportunity to learn the requirements of your academic unit, meet with a faculty advisor to plan/review your courses, register or adjust your course schedule and become familiar with campus life. The program activities are designed to prepare you to begin classes on Tuesday, January 19, 2010.
If you have paid your acceptance fee to the Admissions Office and you are a new first-year student, a transfer student from another institution, or a transfer from UVM's Continuing Education, you will find the Orientation program an important step in starting your academic career at the University of Vermont.
To reserve your space, click here. Or, send your RSVP via e-mail to orientation@uvm.edu. Please include your name, student ID number (95-number), number of family members attending, and any dietary restrictions or special accommodation requests. If you have any questions, please call the Orientation Office at (802) 656-4136.
Students are welcome to bring a parent/family member/friend to most parts of the program. There is a $5 fee per guest, payable at the door. Orientation is free for students.
If you plan to or are required to live on campus, you must complete a request for housing through the Department of Residential Life. Orientation participants who have been assigned a room will be permitted to move in on Friday, January 15th from 8am – 4pm. Students must check in at the main desk of the complex they have been assigned to. Housing questions? Contact Residential Life at reslife@uvm.edu or 802.656.3434.
