June Orientation

Orientation is your formal introduction to The University of Vermont. During our June Orientation Program, you will be housed in one of our residence halls for a one-night/two-day orientation experience where you will meet one-on-one with advisors, participate in workshops and presentations by professors, meet your new classmates, and register for your fall courses. You will also learn more about campus life—what UVM students do beyond the classroom, the organizations to which they belong, how they engage in the Burlington community, where they study, and what they do for fun.

We're still confirming the final details of our summer program and will have a more comprehensive explanation of all that attending June Orientation entails available in early March. In the meantime, here's a quick rundown of what to expect:

Session Dates

Admitted Students attending UVM for the fall 2015 semester will have the option of choosing between a number of 2-day orientation sessions that are available for their academic college. Students must register for the preferred session they wish to attend and will be able to do so online when registration opens in early March. Take a moment to look at this year's Session Dates - we recommend holding off on making your travel arrangements until you have actually registered for a session.

Attendance at June Orientation is required and exceptions will be made only in case of extreme hardship or emergency. If you will be unable to make it to a session you must contact Orientations Program Office as soon as possible to discuss a 'Cannot attend' waiver and your options in preparing for the fall semester (including how you will be able to register for your fall courses).

General Information

Because we're currently planning a majority of our June Orientation program - a lot of specific information is still being determined. We recommend checking back at this site (uvm.edu/orientation) in early March for the most comprehensive rundown of what our June Orientation program entails.

Additionally, be on the look out for our Orientation brochure called Checkpoints which will be mailed to you in early March! In it you'll find comprehensive and detailed information about what the Orientation Program at UVM entails and how to reg

All Orientation costs for the attending student (with the exception of the Early Arrival fee for those needing to arrive the day prior to their session) are covered under the acceptance fee they paid to admissions. The only other additional costs for the Orientation program are from those attending the Family Orientation Program.

More details on Early Arrival and Family Program will also be available on this site in early March.

Registering

Registration for June Orientation will be available online through our orientation reservation system in early March. Please check back at that time for more information.
