Welcome, Fall 2012 Admits!

This Orientation Session is for first-time, first year students who are unable to attend an Orientation session during June, and for transfer students who have not attended another Transfer/Campus Life session.

Orientation Check-In
Please plan to check-in at the Dudley H. Davis Student Center, 4th floor, on Friday, August 24 between 11-11:30am. Family members are welcome to join August Orientation; there is a $5 program fee to cover lunch and program materials.

Pick up important information about Orientation and join us for lunch!
11:30 a.m. - 12:15 p.m. Welcome & Campus Life Session (Davis Center)
Meet the Orientation Staff and learn about life on campus. Get your questions answered regarding financial aid, residential life, dining services, health and well being, transfer affairs, and academic support services.
12:15 - 12:50 p.m.
Orientation Leader Meeting/Student Panel for Families
An OL will help you identify the things you should do before classes begin and answer your questions about campus life. A student panel will also be offered for family members.
1:00 p.m.
  • Academic Advising & Course Registration
  • Get your Student ID at the CATCard Office
  • Take a Campus Tour
  • Meet with ACCESS office (for students with disabilities - call ACCESS to make an appointment)
  • Visit campus offices to get your questions answered & business done

Reserving Your Place
Registration for August Orientation will open in early April. If you have questions, feel free to call us at 802-656-4136. Our office is open Monday- Friday from 8:30am -12pm and 1-4pm.

Other Important Information
Accommodations are available for participants with disabilities. Please call the Orientation Office at 802-656-4136 two weeks in advance of your arrival to indicate your needs.

Parking
You may park in the visitors' lot on College Street or in Gutterson Garage. Because August 24 is also move-in day for all first-year students and transfer students living on campus, campus will be busy. If you have moved into a residence hall and are already properly parked somewhere on campus, we strongly suggest leaving your car there and walking or taking a shuttle bus to the Davis Center.
