Integrating Technology into Higher Education Coursework

Models

Individuality is treasured and nutured in higher education.  As designers of learning, professors strive to craft courses in ways that not only provide content but reflect one's philosophical and pedagogical beliefs.  Professors who decide to integrate technology into a course want to be sure that the use of technology really improves it, makes it more accessible to students, increases communications, provides motivation, and has a demonstrable impact on student learning.

Locating exemplary models of technology integration can be difficult and time-consuming.  Begin by looking at the work already underway in your own department. Then, investigate models under development at other universities for more ideas.

Quest 3:  Locating Models; Gathering Ideas

In this session, investigate how college professors from UVM and other higher education institutions are integrating technology into their teaching.

In undertaking this task, ask yourself the following questions:

How are UVM faculty members currently using technology?
How can I learn from them?
What ideas can I gather from other colleges and universities?
How can models help me create my own vision for technology usage in my courses?
