Growl provides

Growl is implemented as java applet and stand alone editor and uses WonderWeb OWL API. It runs on Sun java runtime 1.4.2 or later.

Testing GrOWL

The old and the latest version of GrOWL editor could be downloaded from this page. The old version based on Touchgraph and OWLAPI comes in one executable jar file. It is no longer supported. The version based on Prefuse and Jena is under active development. The distribution contains source code and binaries. To test GrOWL applet go to ESD portal, enter the database, then explore the links under title Knowledge Maps (located on the left menu panel).

OLD GrOWL editor second alpha release- Link to the executable jar file containing the Touchgraph and OWL API based implementation of Growl editor.(java-1.4.3)

Touchgraph based version GrOWL does not work correctly on java 1.5.0, and apparently this is a problem of vm of java 1.5.0.

New: Prefuse +Jena based implementation of GrOWL Editor: Here is the first alpha release of GrOWL. Unzip the file, to run use platform specific script file located in the root directory. This distribution includes source code

New: The GrOWL Protégé Plugin , first alpha release. To Install: Unzip the content of the archive into your Plugin directory of your Protégé installation. To use : In order to use GrOWL plugin in your ontology project open your project, select menu item Project | Configure, find GrOWL View on the list and check it.
