MISSION STATEMENT and GOALS
Mission Statement:
To replace and improve the current system of collecting, maintaining, and
retrieving information about prospective, present and past students at
UVM.
The goals of this project are:

To create a system in which it is easy for students, faculty, staff, and
administration to collect, revise, query, and report on appropriate student
information.

To insure that the information in the system is accurate, current, complete,
matched to current and future needs, well structured, maintainable, and
secure.

To use the implementation of the system to redesign processes that make
sense from the student's point of view and enhance the UVM experience.

To develop a process which is also responsive to the needs of faculty,
staff, and administration through ongoing communication.

To reduce the current cost of processing student information and strive
for "affordable excellence".

To assure that all parts of the SIS are well integrated into a holistic
and seamless system that is congruent with general University goals.
