Major/Minor/ Concentration Query Lists:
1. From the Registrar's Home Page (http://giraffe.uvm.edu/~rgweb) click on Faculty Access, enter your Social Security number and PIN, and click on Authenticate. From the Menu, click on Major, Minor, Concentration List.
2. Click on the arrow to the right of the term to select the term you desire. Highlight the term and hit Submit Query.
3. Unless you want to view Undeclared Majors, hit Retrieve List. To view Undeclared Majors click on all boxes so that only Undeclared Majors' box is checked. You cannot get a list of majors, minors and concentrations which includes all the undecided majors, too. This list would be very long and take too long to run.
4. When the next screen pops up, select the Majors, Minors and Concentrations you want to view by highlighting them with your left mouse button. For non-contiguous selections, hold down the CTRL-key while you highlight with the mouse.
5. Click on Submit Query. Your list will appear. Click on any student name to get General Student Data. Scroll to bottom of the page for Additional Student Information. Click on Academic Transcript, Student Schedule, or Transfer Worksheet to view. For a list of what the abbreviations used in the Concentration box mean, click here.
Using the Comma Delimited function:
You may download the information you see on the screen to a file which may be opened in a spreadsheet or word processing program. Click on the "comma delimited box". Submit the query as you normally would. You will see a "save as" box. The default will place it in your TEMP file named either "Advisees.txt" or "delimited.txt". If you would like to a save it elsewhere, you may do so. Click on "Save". It will take a little while, but when the pop-up box is gone, your file will be saved.
You may now open the file in any word processing or spreadsheet program. (Use File, then Open) To get the columns to line up in Excel, you will be prompted. Choose "begin line 4", then check the box for "comma" delimited. Further specifying some of the columns with numbers in them as "Text" columns will preserve zeros. (If you are not prompted, the command is under Data/Text to Columns.
In Lotus, go to Range, then "Parse". Choose "Quasi Format" and "OK" and the file should line up nicely.
You may also use "Cut and Paste" directly from the Netscape screen. To do this, first highlight the information you'd like. Then from the Menu click on Edit then Copy (or Control C). This saves the information in your computer's memory. Go to your spreadsheet or word processing program and click on Edit, then Paste (or Control V). The information will appear.
NOTES:

between the time a student changes his major and that information
is sent to the Registrar's Office and inputted.
