INFO AVALABLE: Advisor information.

• Each student must have one primary advisor. To indicate primary advisor, the Primary box must be checked. To do that click or NextItem (Tab) into the Primary box and hit the spacebar to select the advisor as the primary advisor. (This is the same as loading a 'Y' in the Primary field in the old version of BANNER).
• To load an advisor for someone who has no advisor, put the desired term in the key block, hit NextBlock (Ctrl(PgDn)), and add advisor as usual. To search on ID click on ID enter name, click on search, move cursor to name and click on select.) 
• To change an advisor for a different term for someone who already has an advisor, put the desired term for the new advisor in the key block. NextBlock Ctrl(PgDn). Then copy the existing record by pressing DupRec (F4). This will result in a record with the new term, but the old advisor. Delete the old advisor -- Delete Record (Shift-F6). This saves automatically. Search for the new advisor's ID number by clicking on the ID button or use the menu. NextBlock Ctrl(PgDn) into the ID/Last Name/First Name/etc. block. Enter the advisor's last name in the Last Name field and hit Search button or (F8). Then Select button or menu. Check Primary Box and Save(Accept) (F10). 
• To end an advisor (and not add another one ) enter the term in which the advisor is being ended in the Key Block, then NextBlockCtrl (PgDn) into the From/To Term area and hit DupItem (F3). You will notice that the To Term will have changed to the term in the Key Block. 
• Note: If you click on the Code field button, it will automatically bring back MINR -- the code for Advisor for Minor. Therefore, unless you actually want to code the faculty member as a minor advisor, do not click on Code button. See Navigation Tips #2, for more information. 
• Clicking the Student Information button will take you to SGASTDN. From SGASTDN click the Registration Button to SGASTDQ. Exit twice to get back to SGAADVR. The same forms can be reached from the Key Block ID or Term field, CQH (Shift=F2) will take you to . SGASTDQFrom SGASTDQ, Exit Alt(F4) will return you to SGAADVR.
