ACADEMIC STANDING

INSTRUCTIONS TO LOAD ACADEMIC STANDING

Go to the BANNER form SHAINST.
In the ID field type in the student's ID #. If you do not know the student's ID # you can query by name.ID SEARCH
For the Term field you must select a term that has grades recorded and rolled to history. Do COUNT QUERY HITS for the valid terms. SELECT the appropriate term for the student.
NEXT BLOCK to the academic standing field.
Do a LIST for the acadmic standing codes. SELECT the appropriate academic standing code.
SAVE.
ROLLBACK.
Repeat the steps for the next student.
If you make a mistake NEXT BLOCK to the academic standing field. CLEAR THE FIELD and SAVE. Enter the correct information for the student and SAVE. ROLLBACK.

Once you have loaded the information in SHAINST you need to retrieve the information from REPGEN.

Select 1 - Report Options.
Select 1 - Report.
Select M - More Reports.
Select 5 - Student Term GPA Report.
Select 4 - Choose Print options.
Select 1 - Print Queue.
Enter the printer name.
Select 0 - Exit or press Enter.
Select 2 - Make Selections.
Select B - Academic History Menu.
Select 5 - Deans List/Academic Standing Term (ASTD).
Enter the term.
Select 7 - Academic Standing.
Enter the Academic Standing code(s).
Select 0 - Exit or press Enter.
Select 8 - Academic Program Menu.
Select 1 - Student Term.
Enter the Student Term. (For Fall 1998, enter 199809, Spring term is the year plus 01, Summer is the year plus 06).
Select 3 - College.
Enter the college code wanted. i.e.: 15 - Arts & Sciences
Select S - Secondary program menu. Enter "Y" for yes. This will check the secondary curriculum to include dual degree students.
Select 0 - Exit or press Enter.
From the Report Options Menu Select 6 - Select count. This will tell you the number of students selected.
Select 0 - Quit or press Enter.
From the Report Generator Menu Select 6 - Run Report. It will tell you the report has been generated. If there are over 100 students, then you will be prompted to :"really run the report" and you type in Y for yes.
*This report can serve as a check for yourself since academic standing is included respectively with the semester the action was taken.
