D350 Solar Project - Powered Equipment

Powered Equipment

There seems to be a great deal of interest in what I'm doing with all the power I collect, so this page will keep a running tab on everything I've used the solar panel for. All of the photos of equipment below show it running while powered completely on solar power.

Powerbook G4 (14W on Monitor, 18W Normally, 40W Charging)
& 17" LCD Monitor (35W)
The panel will power both my Powerbook and its external monitor. The laptop is charged and run on solar power whenever it is in my room and represents the single biggest user of power. While initially it ran on inverted AC power, I ordered a DC adaptor for it so it can use raw DC off the battery, saving my the ineffencies of converting the power.

Cell Phone
My cell phone is charged completely on solar power. I also ordered a car adaptor for the phone so it can charge directly on DC power.

To be added later: Palm Pilot, iPod, and other devices.

Want to charge your device on 100% clean renewable energy?
I'm always willing to charge other's devices off the battery. It's preferable if you have a DC adaptor for your device (in other words, a car charger), but if you don't I can most certantly power up the inverter. Just let me know.
