SOLAR TOILET PROJECT
The solar toilet project continues to be a centerpiece of our agenda. Six toilets are now installed and in various phases of testing: two in India, two in Nepal and two at a ranch in Custer County, Colorado, south of Colorado Springs. The ranch test has taken on significant importance as Custer County will ban all outhouses in 1997. Many people who now rely on outhouses are interested in the solar toilet alternative. A group of Air Force Academy cadets is studying technology issues and will provide their report in December.
