LONG AND SHORT TERM GOALS

(SAMPLE)

I. Short term goals defined: simple, single task, activities that can be completed in a class. Short term goals are frequently arranged in a sequence of increasing difficulty

II. Long term goals defined: a complex combination of short term goals, strung together and performed in a continuous action, to show an achievable outcome at the end of an instructional unit. A progression of increasingly complex short term goals, called skill combinations, is used to build toward the single long term goal statement.
