UVM/VI Partnership for Professional Development

Educational Technology Specialist Endorsement
Educational Technology Specialist Endorsement

As of July 2004, Vermont State teaching licensing regulations require that individuals providing direct instruction in educational technology to students in Vermont's public K-12 schools must be licensed as Vermont educators and must carry the endorsement as an Educational Technology Specialist.

The Educational Technology Specialist endorsement can be acquired through transcript review (for example, UVM's six online graduate level courses) or through the peer review process. See the following Vermont Department of Education documents for more details regarding licensing provisions.

The partnership between The University of Vermont and Vermont Institutes is intended to support the professional development needs of educators who are working to enhance the use of technology in Vermont schools.  Online graduate courses are being developed, which can be taken as stand-alone courses or as a sequence of courses leading to Vermont State Educational Technology Specialist endorsement.

Click here for more information about the six online graduate courses.

For those educators intending to combine coursework and experience for the Peer Review Process, this document can help you keep track of your activities that might meet State criteria.
